TreehouseErongo

Onjowewe Treehouse.

A house in the rocks, with the sky for a ceiling.

Setting. Onjowewe sits in a granite landscape in the Erongo region — boulder formations, ancient acacias, wide horizons. The bush is alive at dawn and dusk; the silence in between is the point.

Accommodation. The House in the Rocks offers three spacious bedrooms across two levels — three doubles and four single twins, two en-suite bathrooms — plus two additional tented suites. The Bush Camp adds four individual tents, all sharing an ablution block. Campsite available too.

What's included. Typical Namibian farm-style dinner. Continental and hot farm breakfast on the deck overlooking the African bush. Cash bar with beer, wine, soft drinks. Staff on-site during the day and on standby through meal times.

A note on the experience

There is no permanent electricity on the property. Lanterns and candles are provided in the main areas at sunset. The point is to slow down — and the absence of grid power is part of that.

Design your journey

Where you stay shapes how you experience a place.

In Namibia, the difference between a good trip and an unforgettable one often comes down to the places you choose — and how they connect.

Hideaways was founded on a simple idea: that the rooms you sleep in shape the way you remember a country. We curate a limited collection of distinctive stays, from remote desert cabins to intimate lodges, each selected for its setting, character, and sense of escape.

Beyond accommodation, we design complete journeys — seamless, personalised itineraries, self-drive or guided — crafted around your pace, with the right balance of structure and freedom.

Slow down. Reconnect.

How we work

Three steps to a considered stay.

01

Curate

We visit every property in person, multiple times, in different seasons. Only the ones that meet the standard make the collection. Reviews matter; so does what we see ourselves.

02

Design your journey

We plan the route around your pace and your interests. Distances, rhythms, transfers, dietary needs — all the friction handled before you arrive.

03

Arrive

We coordinate the operators, confirm the details, and stay reachable through your trip. The hosts know you're coming. The rooms are ready. You just experience it.

Where nature sets the pace, take your time.

Start your journey with us.
